Garden Planning and Bulb Planting
One of my favorite things to do is plan out the upcoming year's garden. It gets me excited for spring and is an excellent indoor activity when the weather isn't so nice out. This past weekend I got a chance to sit down and plan out my garden for 2022.
My goal for my garden this upcoming year is to plant more perennials. Eventually, I hope this plot of land will become my perennial garden. Then I want to expand and make rows of beds beyond this garden for my vegetables and annuals.
I find it very helpful to keep a garden note book, where I can write down my plans for my garden and keep track of what worked that year and what did not. That way I can look back and build on that years successes and failures. It is also helpful for bulb planting because you have a diagram of where you have planted everything.
With everything planned out I headed out to my garden and got to planting! This year I planted a mix of tulips, daffodils, squill, poppies and peonies. Planting bulbs is one of my favorite things to do in gardening. It is so rewarding once spring comes around to see all your hand work pay off with beautiful flowers.
I hope this inspires you to get out there and plant some bulbs and perennials in your garden!
