Cosmos

This flower will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a flower that was introduced to me by my grandma as it was her favorite of all flowers. She grew them in her garden when I was young. I remember how they danced in the wind even with the most gentle breeze. There is something so naturally graceful to them.

Cosmos are a flower that often pops up in my garden without me planting them. They will self-seed, but I like to think these volunteer plants are a little hello from my grandma. She passed on May 1st, which is far too early to see cosmos bloom. But the day after her funeral, as I walked through my garden, I noticed a tiny little Cosmo popping out to say hello. I just knew my grandma was letting me know she was still around.

Flowers bring life to a space. While they eventually leave us, it's never for long. They bring with them not just beauty but also memories and connections. Everyone has a special memory of a flower, and each time you see it, it sparks an emotion in you. That's what makes flowers so special to me. Each one sparks something inside me, and new ones place their mark on my soul.

What flower holds a special place in your heart?
